CONDITIONS

Use of the:
MASTER HOWERTON DATA FILES
Bryan R. Howerton (Searcy, Arkansas) has researched the Howerton family history for more than 40 years and accumulated information on many thousands of them.
John F. Howerton (Sun City, Arizona) joined in this venture several years ago.
We have merged our data files into the "Bryan R. and John F. Howerton Master Howerton Data Files" and it now contains more than 20,000 names that tie the Howertons together back to 1663 colonial America. Bryan also maintains a file of several hundred Howertons that have not been linked to the family. We are pleased to assist Howerton descendants in determining their direct ancestors. There is no charge for our work, but we ask those helped by its use to assure us that:
(1) they will not use the information provided for commercial purposes and
(2) they will cite our work ( see note ) as the source of the information when recording it or passing it to others and
(3) they will provide us all the information they have on all Howertons.
(4) they will not post
the information received from Howerton Heritage on the internet
or give or sell the information to any company or any person who
would possibly post the information on the internet or sell it to
a genealogical company.
(Although genealogical companies appear
harmless, they are in business for one thing and that is to make
money. Unknowingly, some of our Howerton relatives have posted
information received from Howerton Heritage with these companies.
Once that information has been placed on the company's free
website, the information, YOUR information, is often considered
their property. They then may sell your information to other
interested parties.)"
NOTE: When you send us material, enter the name of the person who found the material or provided the material to you. When you use the material we provided to you please cite the following: " This material came from the Bryan R. and John F. Howerton Master Howerton Data Files and enter the current date."
We do not mean to be offensive by asking for agreement with the foregoing statement. We just don't want to repeat some bad experiences of the past. We don't charge Howerton descendants for any help we may be able to provide. However, we do ask that they give us any additional information on Howertons that they have. We are most interested in the correct names of each person in each generation. Also, on each person we would like the date AND place of birth, marriage, death, and where buried. Few people seem to have all this info at their fingertips; however, some have been able to obtain it from relatives or old papers, Bibles, etc. Anything additional that you can provide would be appreciated. The only use we make of information received is to add it to the Howerton database and use it in freely helping other Howertons seeking their ancestors.
We believe each Howerton descendant is entitled to the information concerning her/his direct lineage without charge.
