Ruth Wolfe Howerton, age 93, of Mooresburg, passed away Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at her home after a long illness. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized into Barnards Grove Baptist Church where she remained a member until death. Mrs. Howerton was preceded in death by her father, Henry Wolfe and mother, Mollie Deboard Wolfe; husband, Hurdle Howerton; an infant son, Ronald; sister, Ruby Moore; and four brothers, Troy Wolfe, Cline Wolfe, Walter Wolfe and Jessie Wolfe, Sr. She is survived by one daughter, Imogene Bray and husband, Doyle, of Mooresburg; three sisters, Catherene Trent and husband, Claude, of Indiana, Jewell Sutton of Indiana and Georgie Hodge; and brother-in-law, George (Bye) Moore of Bean Station. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Stubblefield Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Green and the Rev. Roger Hansard officiating. Burial will be in Meadow Branch Cemetery in Bean Station. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home. Arrangements by Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown.
