Jennie Lou Howerton O'Master was born 9/18/09 in Fayette, Alabama, the daughter of Charles Henry Howerton and Minnie Belle Taylor. She had three siblings: Brother: Clifton Guy "Happy" Howerton, who preceded her in death (1988), Sister: Ethel Pearl Howerton Deglas, Pulaski, TN, Brother: Thomas Earl Howerton, Louisville, KY.
Jennie Lou was married to the late John Paul O'Master, Sr. (Minneapolis, MN). Their two children are Bettie O'Master Higgins (Charles) of Pulaski, TN and John Paul O'Master, Jr. (Carol) of Beltsville, MD.
Four granddaughters (in order of birth), Jennifer Higgins Ballard, Huntsville, AL, Kathryn O'Master, Upper Marlboro, MD, Laura O'Master Hallock, Arlington, VA, Heather O'Master Gogal, North Carolina.
Five great-grandchildren (in order of birth) John Charles, Andrew, Grace, Matthew and Kristen.
Jennie Lou Howerton O'Master died 11/18/01 at the age of 92 while a resident of SunBridge Care, Ardmore, TN. She was memorialized by her family and friends on Wednesday, 11/21/01.
It was commented upon at the Memorial Service that her death was free of pain and stress, in answer to prayers made for that conclusion to her physical existence, and that she went to God in a meteor shower on Sunday morning of Thanksgiving Week. It was also noted by her family that she lived by what she believed and had taught, "Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good." (From the Letter of St. Paul to the Romans, Chapter 12, Verse 21.)
Her remains were cremated and the urn rests in a niche at Giles Memory Gardens, Pulaski, TN.
