Ima Jean Howerton, age 73, of Malvern, Died early Tuesday morning in Hot Spring County Medical Center. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on March 21, 1932, to the late Moses Sidney and Myrtle Lee Fisher Baker. Reared and educated in Hot Springs, she had been a resident of Malvern for over fifty years. She was a homemaker and a widow of the late Hank Howerton who preceded her in death in 1980. They were married on Dec 13, 1952, in Hot Springs.
Mrs Howerton was a member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loves to garden, do needlework and was a wonderful baker. Her family especially remembers her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls. She is survived by three daughters, Brenda Stanley, Teresha Balderas and Debbie Spell, all of Malvern, by six grandchildren; and by four great grandchildren, with one on the way. Also preceding her in death were two sons Jerry and Michael Fuller, and ten brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, Nov 3, 2005 in the chapel of J. A. Funk Funeral Home. Her ashes will be interred on the family plot in Rockport Cemetery at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy and Joshua Buckholz, Juan, Carlos and Lorenzo Balderas and Kevin Howerton. The family will be headquartered at the Stanley residence, 517 North Main Street Malvern.
