Franklin Ray Howerton

Franklin Ray Howerton, Jr., age 55, of Hemet, California died Saturday, August 6, 2005, at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet, California. He was born January 30, 1950 in Arlington, California. Howerton was a Volunteer of the Calley Blind Center as an administrator for 14 years. Prior to his involvement with the Calley Blind Center he earned his Master's degree and was an X-Ray Technician. Employed at one time at the  Hemet Valley Medical Center, he Served in the Navy, and married Cheryl Clark 8-21-1971 in Santa Barbara, California. Howerton has resided in Riverside County the last 55 years. He is described by his two sons as being an avid sports fan. Franklin is survived by his wife Cheryl, 2 sons Scott and Wayne of Hemet, one brother, Andrew, of Denver, Colorado and three Grandchildren, Brandin, Mia, and Mason of Hemet.

Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. Sat. August 20, 2005 at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory, 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, California. Private internment was at Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside. Ca. He was the son of Franklin Howerton and the late Mary (Havice) Howerton. In Lieu of flowers family has requested donations to the Ray Howerton Memorial fund through Atura, 1995 E. Florida Ave. Hemet, CA. 92544 Acct#2271521, funds to be used for Ray's favorite charities.
