Ethel “Granny” Howerton Mullins

ROGERSVILLE — Ethel “Granny” Howerton Mullins, Rogersville, died Friday, October 3, 2003 at Wellmont Hawkins County Memorial Hospital. She was born to William C. and Emma Howerton on July 31, 1914. She was a member of West View Missionary Baptist Church. Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe T. Mullins; a daughter, Dorotha Jean Bellamy; grandson, Kelly Ray Mullins; granddaughter, Marie Mullins; great great grandson, Ronnie Kelly Pierson; three sisters, Della Bumgardner, Eva Bumgardner and Bertha Dalton; a brother, Tivis Howerton and a special nephew, Bruce Howerton. She is survived by a daughter, Joann Bennett and husband, Herman; six sons, Fred W. Mullins and wife, Pat, Earl Mullins and wife, Martha, Glen C. Mullins and wife, Vicki, Rev. Ray Mullins and wife, Joyce, Dennis Mullins and wife, Linda, all of Rogersville, Larry L. Mullins and wife, Christy, Surgoinsville; son-in-law, Leo Bellamy, Rogersville; 22 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, October 5, 2003 in the Broome Funeral Home chapel with Revs. Dennis Price and Lawrence Smith officiating. Graveside services were conducted Monday, October 6, 2003 in Hawkins County Memorial Gardens. Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville was in charge of arrangements.
