HOWERTON, DONNIE SHERRILL - age 58 of Strawberry Plains passed away Monday, October 15, 2007 at UT Medical Center. His date of birth was June 23, 1949. Member of Knoxville Baptist Tabernacle and also attended Lyons Creek Baptist Church. Donnie loved the Lord and was a wonderful husband, loving father, son, and brother. He loved sports, especially UT sports. Survivors include wife, Kathy Howerton; daughters, Tiffany Howerton and Brandi Howerton; parents, Sherrill and Betty Howerton; brother, Tim Howerton and wife Sue; sister, Janice Williams and husband Richard; in-laws, Rev. Albert and Mildred Barlow; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stephen and Sally Barlow; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, October 18, 2007 in the chapel at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Albert Barlow and Dr. Jim McCluskey officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Friday at Trentville Cemetery for an 11:00 am interment. Pallbearers: Joshua Howerton, Robert McDonald, Tim Howerton, Richard Williams, Steve Barlow, and Brandon Carroll. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 pm Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home, 5430 Rutledge Pike, 523-4999.
