"The following is a form that represents the kind of information needed to build the links between individuals and their ancestors and descendants. Even partial information is very helpful. We have a data base of over 20,000 either Howerton names or links - most prior to 1920. We can link most individuals to their branch of the larger Howerton family providing the information they submit is accurate and can span two or three generations.

The inexperienced researcher, who is trying to trace his/her roots, often thinks their "family tree" is readily available and all they have to do is submit their name. This is not so, so please, when requesting or submitting information please fill out the form as completely as possible. There are numerous Howertons with the same Christian names, hundreds with the most common names. You will both save us time and help in accurate identification of your Howerton lineage by providing the dates and places of events such as birth, marriage(s) and death of each person listed on your Gen Data Form. Nicknames are not required and please advise when you enter a nickname, as most court, military, or other "official" records (from which the majority of our information has been obtained) do not include nicknames.
