THE 7th ANNUAL 2006
Howerton Family Reunion
Claiborne County, Tennessee

Summary of the Seventh Annual Howerton Reunion

Held at Springdale School on Highway 25E in Claiborne County, Tennessee
SATURDAY – OCTOBER 21, 2006
11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Fay Barnard and Jean Barnard for all of their hard work in helping hold the reunion. THANK YOU, WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOU!

We also want to thank Louella (Lou) Howerton VanLandingham for her contribution to the reunion.

We were fortunate this year in that Wally Howerton attended our reunion. Wally is the editor of Howerton Heritage (a family newsletter about Howertons).Wally talked about the first Howertons who came into America. Everyone enjoyed meeting Wally and appreciated the information he provided. We sure hope that Wally will come again next year.

We gave two door prizes this year. One was a booklet containing some family history and pictures. It was won by Lloyd Stubblefield, son of Grace Howerton Stubblefield and grandson of Richard Lee Howerton. The second door prize was a holiday wreath and it was won by Ed Howerton, son of Silas Howerton and grandson of Dock Howerton.

In addition to the two door prizes, a prize was awarded to the person who traveled the farthest. It went to Joyce Howerton Kipf-Trowbridge from Monroe, MI.

Also, prizes were given to the oldest gentleman present and the oldest lady present. William (Willie) Houston was the oldest man present, 97 years. Grace Howerton Stubblefield was the oldest woman present, 90 years. God bless them, and we hope that both of them will be with us again next year.
