Greeting Cousins:
Since becoming involved with Howerton Heritage I have indeed been fortunate to meet some of our Howerton family who more than likely I never would have met. Skoshi Howerton (a canine relative) brought Bryan & Jean Howerton all the way from Arkansas to see us last year. Of course there is never enough time for a proper "brainpicking" visit. This year we were visited by Lorene Howerton Lawrence and husband Jewell from southern California. This also was a most enjoyable visit and Karen and I were able to show off some of our West Virginia sites.
My New Year's resolution this year is not only to lose weight but I want to make it a point to visit with more Howertons. There are many in West Virginia that are only an hour or so drive away. I'd also, love to hit the Howerton Reunion out in Claiborne County, Tennessee. Well, quit talking about it Wally and do it!
Many of you have found out long ago that the only thing in life that matters is family. My immediate family has always been my number one priority but lately I have been extending this to my not so immediate family.
May God watch over us all, especially our young women and men who continue to sacrifice their lives so we remain free and safe.
Karen and I, and I'm sure that I am speaking for John F. & Peg, and Bryan & Jean, wish all of you the best Holiday Season ever! May you become even closer this coming year to your family and continue to grow.
